The Dues Engine

Picture dues as a two-cylinder engine. One cylinder represents the number of members paying dues (Figure 1) while the other cylinder represents how much members pay to belong (Figure 2).An efficient dues engine (one that produces adequate high-margin revenue for the club to operate) is the result of both cylinders working in harmony with an adequate number of members paying an adequate amount to belong to the club. A weak dues engine (one that is producing too little dues revenue) is the result of too few members, dues charges that are too low or in the worst case scenario, both. Slide three represents dues paid multiplied by the number of members... the club's dues engine.
