Presentation to 50+ NECMA Members Discusses Dynamic Benchmarking, a New Approach to the Benchmarking Process Featuring a Common Language of Metrics and Continuous Delivery of Productive Information

KINGSTON, NH – February 22, 2010 - Country Club Benchmarking, provider of an advanced online benchmarking service to private golf country clubs, presented a 60 minute educational session to the New England Club Managers Association (NECMA) Monday February 22, 2010 at the Providence Art Club. Ray Cronin, Founder and CEO of Country Club Benchmarking, discussed how "Dynamic Benchmarking" can be applied to country clubs to deliver a highly actionable and continuous business management tool.

Mr. Cronin defined Dynamic Benchmarking as "The continuous and productive study of my business performance relative to my peers".  The session discussed traditional benchmarking forms including "Static Bechmarking" - survey submission and subsequent receipt of printed results, "Shadow Benchmarking" - one General Manager calling a few other General Managers searching for information, and "Peer Clusters" -  where several clubs agree to share information for benchmarking purposes.  While these methods offer varying levels of value, all fall short of "Dynamic Benchmarking" - a large always accessible database of filterable financial and operational club data.  The key components to Dynamic Benchmarking are a proven common language of metrics which enables true apples-to-apples comparison between your club and the other clubs in the database, and the filterable database allowing the user to define their comparison peers by club characteristic or by actually selecting clubs by name.

Also discussed was the value of a Dynamic Benchmarking tool to existing peer clusters.  A well designed tool can eliminate the heavy data collection and collation burdens resulting from manual spreadsheets or accounting system outputs.  Peer clusters can spend their time analyzing and understanding the data rather than organizing and standardizing it.
