Strategic alliance will further position Club Benchmarking as the club industry’s centralized data sharing platform

Alexandria, VA – February 25, 2011 - Today, the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) and Club Benchmarking (CB) jointly announced a collaborative effort regarding data collection and benchmarking in the club industry. The collaboration spans two fronts. On the first front, CMAA announced beginning with the 2011 Finance and Operations Survey and Report, all of their industry surveys will be conducted annually using the CB benchmarking platform.

"It is more important now than ever that club executives have access to the most current and relevant data when making decisions impacting every area of their businesses," commented CMAA Chief Executive Officer James Singerling, CCE, CEC. "The Club Benchmarking platform is far and away the most sophisticated source for data sharing in the club industry. In my estimation, this technology is a game changer for our industry. Our collaboration with this firm will allow CMAA to provide our members and the industry at-large with information vital to our collective success."

The Club Benchmarking platform, based on Dynamic BenchmarkingTM technology, delivers precise and accurate peer comparison data directly to the club managers desktop. Intuitive filtering allows for highly relevant peer comparisons enabling club managers to use accurate, factual data in managing their club.

According to Ray Cronin, Co-Founder and CEO of Club Benchmarking, "The club industry is data starved and under financial pressure resulting from the economy at large. Easy access to factual data has a tremendous impact on aligning staff, boards and committees on opportunities, issues and priorities."

On the second front, CMAA and CB will work over time to integrate the CB platform into the manager’s continuing education process, particularly since benchmarking is a key facet of managing with best practices. Implementation and ongoing management of best practices must be based on relevant and accurate data. The collaboration between CMAA and CB will move best practices and benchmarking within the club industry significantly forward.

Developed in cooperation with club general managers, board members, committee members, and auditing firms, Club Benchmarking enables private clubs to assess their financial and operational performance in minutes. By using the resource, Club Benchmarking subscribers are able to easily benchmark the performance of their club's various departments to peer clubs in their local area, region or across the nation in total anonymity.

CMAA and CB will be introducing the collaboration and demonstrating the platform to the CMAA membership at the CMAA World Conference and Club Business Expo being held through February 28, 2011 at the Marriott Resort & Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
